Q. What experience do you have? A. I have filmed over 600 weddings and have worked in the vast majority of wedding venues across Northern Ireland, it is very rare these days that I get a venue to film in that I haven't worked in before. This is a massive bonus! It means I have got to know all the staff that will be looking after your day and I know exactly where to set up in which rooms. Please feel free to have a look at the testimonials page to see some feedback.
Q. Is your equipment up to standard? A. I only use the latest Sony & Canon 4k recording cameras. I have at least 2 cameras at every wedding along with a drone and a whole range of accessories, tripods, lenses and audio equipment. Tie clip microphones are used on the groom during the ceremony and where possible I can also use this equipment if your hotel has wireless microphones to get crystal clear audio. You will sometimes see wedding films advertised for something like £250, the first question i would ask them is what equipment they are using. Some of the lenses i use cost £1700 each. It is inevitable that at these sort of prices the quality just is not there.
Q. Do you get on with photographers? A. A common misconception is that Photographers and Videographers do not get on, we do! I am lucky enough to have been at this now for some time and have gotten to know most photographers well, and even work very closely with a few on different projects. This makes for a very smooth running and fun day.
Q. Would you take up any of our time on the day? A. Absolutely not! My style is to try and blend into the background and get a natural feel to the footage. I would never come to you and ask you to do anything cheesy or set up, it just does not look natural!
Q. Can we come and discuss things? A. Of course, just arrange a time that suits and we can meet up and I will run through everything and answer any questions you may have. It is always helpful to put faces to names!
Q. Do you charge for travel? A. There is no charge for travel within Northern Ireland weather you are in Enniskillen or just around the corner. Anything outside this there would be a small charge to cover the cost of fuel and travel time.
Q. How long before my wedding film would be ready? A. I aim to have your film finished within 4-6 weeks. This may be slightly longer during busy periods. Sure there are some guys out there that will tell you 1-2 weeks, if the editing, colouring, mastering etc was being done properly that would be impossible! Besides if they are good they will be popular which means 1-2 weeks would be highly unlikely!
Q. How long will the finished film last? A. This is dependant on a few factors, how long your service is, length of speeches etc. A typical film would usually last around 1 1/2 Hours. Wherever possible your service and speeches will be left in their entirety.
Q. Can you hold a date for me? A. If you want to book myself after viewing samples etc then i can provisionally hold a date for 3 days. Sometimes this is necessary to let your partner, parents etc have a look. After 3 days a deposit would be required to secure the date.
Q. How much of a deposit is required? A. A Booking Fee of £100 secures the date. This is non-refundable. The balance is due 2 weeks before the wedding.
Q. Do you keep a back up of the wedding? A. Yes- I never delete a wedding film so if you come back in 10, 20, 30 years I will be able to get you copies!
Q. Who chooses the music? A. The bride and groom would usually choose all the music on the soundtrack although if you would prefer me to choose the music I can certainly do that. Would always suggest to pick a few upbeat numbers in there, can't be having it too romantic the whole way through!
Q. Do you require a meal? A. No, you will already be feeding enough people! While you are in having your meal I will be reviewing the footage that I have already taken.
Q. How far in advance should I book? A. I would suggest at least a year in advance. I do find myself turning down quite a few weddings because I am already booked and do have weddings booked for 2 and 3 years in advance. There may be availability if it is short notice though so please do contact me and check.
